Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram experience outage worldwide

Is WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram not working properly on your smartphone device? If your answer is exactly as mine, then you’re not alone.

The three social networks have gone down globally for almost two hours now and people are freaking out. Users of social networks are having a hard time viewing photos and other content.

The issues started around 8AM ET and began slowly clearing up after a couple hours, according to DownDetector, which monitors website and app issues.

The errors aren’t affecting all images; many pictures on Facebook and Instagram still load, but others are appearing blank. DownDetector has also received reports of people being unable to load messages in Facebook Messenger.

A Facebook outage affects a suite of popular apps, and those apps collectively have billions of users who rely on them.

Facebook has taken to micro-blogging website Twitter to announce that it is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown”
