The Parliament of Ghana has summoned the various telecommunication operators in the country to appear before it tomorrow to explain their outrageous data charges following huge public outcry.
MTN Ghana on Sunday, December 1 rolled out some new data plans. Data that never expires. Data not expiring is good news but the bad news was, they slashed down on the amount of data allocated when you make a purchase.
For instance, ¢3 daily data bundle which offers 500mb was slashed to 127mb at the same amount and the same applies to all other data packages.
A lot of MTN customers after the new change took to social media to vent their anger on the telecommunication company and threatened demonstration if nothing is done about it.
MTN subsequently apologized following disgruntlement aimed at them. Their message reads:
“Dear Valued Customer,
MTN has experienced some challenges on some of our channels post-implementation of the adjustment of prices and our new data bundles.
We are working around the clocks to resolve the issues as soon as possible.
Our priority is ho continue to delight you and Rive you value For your money.
