Former Burniton Music signee, Kelvyn Boy has launched a new jab to the SM boss Shatta Wale, Bhim Nation boss, Stonebwoy, and others doing dancehall music, says they are the ones pulling Ghana Music backward.
According to ‘Mea’ hitmaker, it has been a long time he heard a real Dancehall song from these so-called dancehall artists.
Kelvyn Boy was answering a question on Joy Prime on why all new songs from artistes in Ghana currently have the same Beat Per Minute.
To him, currently, African musicians do one genre of music which is Afrobeat and that’s what every artist in Africa needs to admit.
“Its been a long time, Its been a very long time I heard a real dancehall song in Ghana. Be true to yourself. When was the last time you heard a dancehall song in Ghana?” he asked Jay Foley.
He said most artistes are recording afrobeat songs and title them as dancehall and that will be the bane that will pull Ghana back in her quest to conquer the world.
He noted that now all artistes across Africa sound the same, an indication that they do the same genre which is afrobeat.
